Description.Abstract
The objectives of this research were: (1) to compare the students’ achievement of English language learning using e-learning, blended learning, and traditional (face-to-face) instruction, and (2) to find students’ satisfaction toward e-learning, blended learning, and traditional (face-to-face) instruction. The samples were 90 first year vocational certificate students who enrolled on the “Real Life English 2” course in the second semester of academic year 2013 at Ban Hong Community Education College, Lamphun. Those students were divided into three groups of 30 by using multi-stage sampling. The first group was taught through e-learning instruction, the second group was taught through blended learning instruction, whereas the third group was taught through traditional instruction. The study was conducted two hours a week for eight weeks period. The instruments of this research were pre-test and post-test, e-learning lesson plans, blended learning lesson plans, traditional lesson plans and satisfaction questionnaire. Statistics for data analysis were mean, standard deviation, percentage, One-way ANOVA or (F-test) and Scheffe’s test. The main findings indicated that (1) the students’ achievement were statistically significant different at 0.05 level (f=5.439, p=0.006), and (2) the satisfaction of students towards blended learning was at the highest level (x̄ = 4.27) followed by the traditional group (x̄ 3.55) and the e-learning group (x̄ = 3.31), respectively. In conclusion, blended learning instruction can significantly increase the students’ achievement scores and the students show highly positive satisfaction towards learning language English
